Over a hundred and fifty years ago a brave band of Welsh men, women and children sailed on the Mimosa to the other side of the world in search of a better life.

William Jones

In this enlightening show pupils will join William Jones, one of the brave Welshmen, on his epic journey from Bala to Patagonia.

They will be transported back in time to the hardship of 1865 Wales; learn about Michael D. Jones’s epic plans to create a new Welsh colony; experience the fun and tragedy on board the Mimosa followed by the reality that greeted them on the shores of Patagonia.

There is no educational pack to coincide with this show, but we’d suggest that you take a look at the resources available at www.150patagonia.cymru/
